Despite the brazenly awful Get Rich or Die Tryin’, Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent has managed to score a new role in a film currently dubbed Live Bet. The script was written by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides and Empire Online reported earlier today that it’s “a heist film based in the New York underworld”. However, not only in Jackson participating in this project, but he’s considering starring in a couple of other films too; including a prison boxing film and an iraqi army drama. Oh the humanity…

After World of Warcraft’s massive success, Blizzard Entertainment and Legendary Pictures are teaming up to produce a live-action film version of the increasingly popular video game world. The Hollywood Reporter managed to chat to Blizzard’s chief operating officer Paul Sams and he said that the company had been wanting to get involved with film for awhile now but “it never really felt right”.

When someone mentions stylish cinema, directors such as Tarantino, Kubrick and Scorsese come to mind. However, South Korea has been cultivating a new generation of film-maker and alongside the mighty Park Chan-Wook stands Kim Jee-Woon - a director that recently made a name for himself in the international market with 2003’s A Tale of Two Sisters. A Bittersweet Life is his foray into the gangster genre and it manages to redefine the meaning of the word style, by adding a whole new dimension of brutality and fashionable sophistication to the typical gangster flick.

According to the folks over at Rotten Tomatoes a sequel to the martial arts smash hit Ong Bak, has currently just hit advanced development stages. The original director, Prachya Pinkaew will be staying on as a producer and the star himself, martial arts prodigy Tony Jaa will be receiving the directorial duties. Other details are scarce, but earlier this year, Coming Soon reported that “Jaa plays a young man on a journey that teaches him the skills and inner meaning of martial arts.” There’s not much to think about yet, but if it’s anything like the original then it will surely be another global success for Tony Jaa - the man some people describe as a modern Bruce Lee.

Already marked to become a massive cult hit, Snakes on a Plane has managed to drum up an impressive amount of support from both the online and offline film communites. So it’s no surprise that the the release of the film’s official poster has been big news with press and fans alike, who have been shamelessly showering it with another host of witty puns. Snakes on a Plane is due to hit UK cinema’s in August.

Aston Martin has revealed James Bond’s new DBS for the upcoming 007 blockbuster “Casino Royale”. The car’s details are being kept secret, although Aston Martin Design Director, Marek Reichman, said: “This car encapsulates a link between our elegant DB9 road car and the powerful DBR9 race car. It signals an evolutionary development of Aston Martin’s world renowned style and elegance. While hinting at our future design direction, the DBS also has very clear links with our heritage – it is instantly recognisable as an Aston Martin.” Aston Martin Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ulrich Bez emphasised that “The DBS continues [their] proud and lengthy association with James Bond.”

An official english teaser trailer has finally been released by Sony after the French one surfaced earlier this week. It showcases a host of intruiging footage and will certainly put a lot of Daniel Craig critics to rest, if this is anything to go by then casting him in the grittier James Bond role, as requried for Casino Royale, was a great idea. The trailer can be viewed in low or an impressively clear high resolution format at the official Sony Pictures Casino Royale site.

Upcoming blockbuster, Mission Impossible III, will not be allowed to open on it’s scheduled release date in China due to the fact that Government officials deem the depiction of the Chinese Security system to be confused and disorganised. Rather than the release date of Wednesday, MI:3 is now expected to make a Chinese appearance in July, by which time the sweep of piracy will have destroyed it’s big hopes for the box office.
