Concerns that “Superman Returns” wouldn’t live up to it’s own over zealous hype have - over the last couple of days - been phased out. The critics’ opinions have largely been very positive with Jeffrey Wells of Hollywood Elsewhere hailing it as a “better film than [Superman] part I or part II” and the infamous Harry Knowles of Ain’t it Cool News stating that the film was what he “was hoping and dreaming for.” Negative opinions have been few and far between, indicating that “Superman Returns” is the one summer blockbuster that has managed to reach and possibly exceed expectations.
