Despite “Superman Returns” not managing to gross enough at the box office to meet studio expectations, Bryan Singer has confirmed that there will be a sequel and that he will, once again, be in the director’s chair. “I have nothing, I have only ideas,” he told Empire Magazine. “I just know that there are certain things that were established in this movie, certain aspects of the characters’ relationships and reveals and a great sense of unresolved and romantic dilemma that Superman faces, and now that the character is established, I’d like to take the opportunity to bring in a more threatening element, a more terrible, foreboding element.” It really was rather inevitable, for thsoe of you that don’t know already, the end of SR was rather inconclusive and left the series open for yet another sequel.
