Tartan Video have today released some more information regarding their upcoming horde of DVD boxsets, including the highly anticipated Vengeance trilogy set, currently scheduled for an October 23 release, which will feature Park Chan-Wook’s “Sympathy for Mr Vengeance”, “Oldboy”, “Lady Vengeance” and a host of extra material. Amongst the others were the “Belleville Rendez-vous : Special Editon”, “Jim Jarmusch Collection Vol. 1″ and all of the previously announced documentary sets, which have now been rescheduled for release in early 2007 rather than the end of this year.

After Cannes, Oldboy has gone on to become an international phenomenon and undeniably created a cult classic, which is currently being remade by Hollywood. Imprisoned by unknown captors for 15 years for allegedly murdering his wife, a man is inexplicably released and told to figure out who has locked him away. With the help of a young girl, he has five days to uncover the culprit and fulfil his revenge. Brutal but lyrical, it’s a modern cinematic fable.

This two-disc set includes ;the autobiography of Oldboy as well as an English dubbed soundtrack alongside the original Korean version.

Lady Vengeance is a masterful story of bloody violence and seductive beauty. Having been a model prisoner in jail where she was serving a sentence for murdering a child, Lee Guem-ji is released for a new start. However, as she starts contacting fellow inmates, she plans her revenge on the man who was really responsible for the crime, but newly reunited with her daughter, her actions could either lead to salvation or damnation.

This two-disc version includes additional commentaries and deleted scenes, but also the Fade-To-White HD feature, exclusive only to the boxset!
