The Hobbit Movie Scheduled?

A rumour indicating that New Line Cinema are planning to make a big screen adaption of the Lord of the Rings prequel “The Hobbit” have come to me today by way of Dark Horizons, having originally been cited at OneRing.net. The popular LotR fansite stated that one of their spies had managed to catch a glimpse of the upcoming New Line Cinema production schedule and that “The Hobbit” was down for a July 2007 production start. Dark Horizons believe that the rumour is very shaky and I feel inclined to agree, although if the project is legitimate then I sincerely hope that Peter Jackson will be getting his claws into it.

“I was in New Line’s NY offices to discuss upcoming projects when I clearly saw something very intriguing on a year planner. ‘The Hobbit’ was clearly marked on what looked like July 2007. I couldn’t exactly take a moment to investigate the calendar with my audience in the room, but it definitely said ‘The Hobbit’. Lets hope this is a PJ project!”
