Raimi to Direct the Hobbit?
Following reports that Peter Jackson will not be involved in the big-screen adaption of The Hobbit, are rumours that Sam Raimi (Evil Dead, Spiderman) may be linked with the project. Of course, however exciting and interesting a prospect that may prove to be, petitions are still being sodomized at rate of knots as fans of the LotR movies attempt to persuade New Line (who own the rights) to get Peter Jackson back in for one more bite of Tolkien’s apple, so to speak. Even Sir Ian Mckellen wants Jacko back: “I’m very sad” said Mckellen on his official site. “I should have relished revisiting Middle Earth with Peter again. It’s hard to imagine any other director matching his achievement in Tolkien country.” Sam Raimi? Peter Jackson? Either would do, just please don’t let Ron Howard near it.
