Despite there being an overwhelmingly negative opinion of the film, Epic Movie has managed to reach the giddy heights of #1 at the US box office this week, grossing a fairly solid $19.2m. After having watched the trailer I can only imagine it to be a failure of the Scary Movie 4 ilk. Joe Carnahan’s Smokin’ Aces, also in its first week of release, assumed 2nd place taking in $14.262m. Elsewhere Night at the Museum added a further $9.45m to its already astronomical gross total and Catch and Release managed to amass a round $8m figure. Catch the full chart at IMDB.
