The Hollywood remake of extreme Japanese flick Battle Royale has been predictably postponed in the wake of the recent tragic events at Virginia Tech. The concept of Battle Royale pits schoolmates against each other in a battle to the death - essentially a game of ‘last man standing’. Clearly the studio feels the subject matter is too offensive for the American public or at least for the few strong voices that may have the tools to damage their commercial reputation. Oh well, I really hope this project soon goes on indefinite hiatus anyway, stupid Roy Lee..he loves to ruin all of my favourite imports.
