New Fido Trailer Online
Currently being billed as the next Shaun of the Dead, Fido provides a 1950s American take on the rapidly expanding zom-com genre. Starring Billy Connolly (Mrs Brown, The Last Samurai) Fido is the story of a kid called Timmy Robinson whose best friend just so happens to be a 6 foot zombie. In fact zombies are pretty much an every day part of life in Willard, they’ve been domesticated with the help of a collar developed by a company called Zomcon which allows the living to utilize zombies as gardeners, milkmen and whatever else they deem useful. But one day, Fido’s collar malfunctions and he ends up eating the Robinsons’ next door neighbour, what ensues is story of friendship, love and most enticingly, guts. Described by Anagram Pics as “a boy-and-his-dog movie for grown ups” Fido certainly doesn’t look as good as Shaun of the Dead, but the trailer does possess a certain charm and my unhealthy affinity for zombies will no doubt compel me to see it anyway.
