Despite the first two becoming firm favourites amongst both the public and critics, it seems that the third Shrek film isn’t destined to be as successful, receiving poor reviews across the board. Rotten Tomatoes average rating on the Tomatometer currently stands at a meagre 43%, whilst over at FirstShowing.Net they awarded it 3/10 calling it an “uneven mess”. If I’m perfectly honest I wasn’t enraptured by the first two films, but I thought they were fairly decent, so seeing this one fall flat on its face is a little surprising. First Spider-man and now this, The Bourne Ultimatum and Pirates of the Caribbean had better be kick-ass or my summer will be shit.
