Rush Hour 3Chris Tucker returns to the big screen after a six-year absence as he reunites with the all-star team of co-star Jackie Chan, director Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, Rush Hour 2, X-Men: The Last Stand, Hannibal), and writer Jeff Nathanson (Rush Hour 2, Catch Me If You Can) to deliver the third installment of the blockbuster Rush Hour franchise. Worst Movies of All-Time

May 12th, 2007

Garbage Day!From the mind of YouTube user SchulteFiaja, here are two short videos depicting some of the worst movie moments of all-time. I can’t say whether these literally are the worst film sequences ever, but I can say that they’re all ridiculously shit and I laughed my ass off at them - I’ll never be able to look at John Barrowman in the same way again. So, prepare to witness some truly deplorable and physically distressing footage from such classic flicks as Shark Attack 3: Megalodon and Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2! 1408 >> Images

May 12th, 2007

1408Renowned horror novelist Mike Enslin (John Cusack - Con Air, High Fidelity) only believes what he can see with his own two eyes. After a string of bestsellers discrediting paranormal events in the most infamous haunted houses and graveyards around the world, he scoffs at the concept of an afterlife. Enslin’s phantom-free run of long and lonely nights is about to change forever when he checks into suite 1408 of the notorious Dolphin Hotel for his latest project, “Ten Nights in Haunted Hotel Rooms.” Defying the warnings of the hotel manager (Samuel L. Jackson - Pulp Fiction, Snakes on a Plane), the author is the first person in years to stay in the reputedly haunted room. Another bestseller may be imminent, but like all Stephen King heroes, Enslin must go from skeptic to true believer — and ultimately survive the night. Read the rest of this entry »

Triangle Added to Cannes

May 12th, 2007

Cannes Film FestivalTsui Hark, Ringo Lam and Johnnie To’s Triangle (Tie San Jiao) has finally been given the go-ahead by the Chinese authorities and will now be able to lawfully enter the Official Selection line-up at the 60th annual Cannes Film Festival next week - an outcome not entirely unexpected due to the film’s plot being a paragon of patriotic virtue (that’s a little excessive, I was just saying that the film isn’t socially or politically risqué and felt an unhealthy urge to use the word paragon). IMDB description: Told in three 30-minute segments (each segment with a different director - sort of like Grind House), three friends seek out the buried treasure of a mysterious stranger. Triangle is the first Chinese/Hong Kong film to enter the competition since Lou Ye’s outrageously controversial Summer Palace last year. Read the rest of this entry »

Rescue Dawn >> Images

May 11th, 2007

Rescue DawnDieter Dengler was a fighter pilot who was gunned down and captured during the Vietnam war; he then staged a remarkable break-out from the camp in which he was interned. Rescue Dawn finds Christian Bale (Batman Returns, The Machinist) playing Dengler in this adaptation of his life, while famed and controversial filmmaker Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man, The White Diamond) takes on directing duties. This is yet another one of my famed image galleries full of..well…just pictures if I’m honest - but it is interesting nonetheless! Read the rest of this entry »

Winehouse Not a Bond Girl, But Who Should Be?

May 11th, 2007

James BondI think we can all breathe a little easier tonight knowing that Amy Winehouse will not be in the next Bond film, Bond 22. During a recent interview she told MTV: “I’m just not an actress … It can’t be true,” Rotten Tomatoes reckon she’ll be on the soundtrack, which I think will be a better fit. Megan Fox should be a Bond Girl hmmm or Monica Belluci or Jessica Biel, the list is too long! If you have an idea about who you reckon should be a Bond girl head over to the contact page and drop me a note (make the message title ‘Bond Girl Vote’), in a week or so I’ll bring together all the entries and compile a top 5 list of wanted Bond girls! Spur of the moment blog ideas = genius feature!

Rob Zombie’s Halloween Trailer Live

May 11th, 2007

HalloweenEver since I first saw Halloween as a young kid, Michael Myers (oh for god’s sake, not Austin Powers) has always scared the absolute piss out of me. I shall never forgive John Carpenter for terrorizing my innocent little mind and forcing me to look over my shoulder at night for fear of a psychopathic killer wearing an ill-fitting rubber mask and wielding a rather sharp (and large) kitchen knife. And now Rob Zombie’s re-make is on the horizon, threatening to rekindle the flame of my traumatic relationship with Mr. Myers. Well, you’d think I could just cast my love for horror movies aside for a moment and avoid the upheaval of childhood fears, but there’s just one problem: the trailer looks awesome. God dammit, why am I such a glutton for punishment? Pfft, catch the trailer over at BDTV (it’s bad-ass, I promise).

New Terminator Trilogy Coming

May 10th, 2007

TerminatorThe new folks in charge of the rights to the Terminator franchise - Halcyon (no never heard of them either) - have today announced that there is indeed to be more Terminator films on our screens in the near future, three of them apparently. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look Arnie nor James Cameron will be involved, but there is news that the writers behind Terminator 3 have already penned the fourth movie and that Jonathon Mostow is once again on board to direct. The film will ostensibly focus on John Connor and be heavily related to narrative points hinted at in T3. My prediction? Not very good. I mean, Terminator 3 was a bit shit wasn’t it?
