Summer BlockbustersThus far, this summer’s wide releases haven’t been particularly well-received by the critics, Spider-man 3 achieved a fairly average 61% on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer and Pirates of the Caribbean didn’t even get half marks, accomplishing a measly 46%. But, it seems that the next phase of blockbusters is faring a little better with Live Free or Die Hard picking up 78%, the first few reviews determining Transformers to be 82% and Ratatouille being awarded a whopping 95%. What does this upward trend dictate then? Oh yeah, it means The Bourne Ultimatum is going to amazing - excellent! But seriously, at least it means we can enjoy some fairly decent entertainment over the coming few months.
