Steven Spielberg’s upcoming remake of Korean revenge flick Oldboy has been cancelled. Or at least, that’s what the internet is telling me.
Steven Spielberg’s upcoming remake of Korean revenge flick Oldboy has been cancelled. Or at least, that’s what the internet is telling me. I know it’s sad that we won’t get to see Will Smith slaughter another few hours of screen time, but I think it’s ultimately for the best. Look at it this way, now he can concentrate on getting even more smug for I, Robot 2. I’m kidding, Will Smith is a bad ass, I just wish I could rewind 15 years. Anyway, don’t take this report as gospel, just hope and hope and hope some more; I’ll pray with you brothers and sisters.

Entertainment’s current fixation with vampires has left me bored of violent sex, blood-sucking and the smell of burning flesh at sunrise (well, perhaps not entirely).
Entertainment’s current fixation with vampires has left me bored of violent sex, blood-sucking and the smell of burning flesh at sunrise (well, perhaps not entirely). But, putting my doubts aside, I decided that Park Chan-Wook’s Thirst was going to be worthy of my time. Thankfully, it was. Gruesome, charming and beautiful, I felt as intrigued as the first time I watched The Vengeance Trilogy and found myself thanking the Gods of cinema (Buzz and Woody?) that somebody had injected an ounce of sanity into a world so inexplicably enamoured with Twilight. I’ll be adding this to my ‘vampire flicks I can stand’ folder along with The Lost Boys and From Dusk Till Dawn.
